Why I built Postomatic

My past startups failed from poor marketing, not code. Postomatic is the tool I built to fix that — making social content simple for founders.

The Spark

Building my first SaaS business was tough enough. Marketing as a one-man band made it overwhelming.

Content creation became a full-time job on top of product development. Coming up with ideas, drafting posts, and publishing them across platforms at the right time - and in the exact format I wanted - consumed all my energy.

Over time, I started noticing repeatable patterns in the types of posts I needed - product releases, version updates, day-to-day insights. At first, I hacked these together with AI, refining rough drafts into something shareable. Over time, those recurring workflows turned into the foundation of Postomatic: a tool that could take a theme, polish it with AI, and adapt it across platforms.”

The truth is: my previous SaaS attempts never failed because of code - they failed because of marketing. I needed a tool to break this cycle and support all my future projects.

From Idea to MVP

Initially, I relied heavily on AI to refine and suggest ideas. I'd submit rough drafts, request rewrites, and gradually developed a feel for what worked.

Using my programming background and AI tools, I built a prototype that worked exclusively for Twitter. I already had the concept of Brand + Persona + Scenario in mind, and quickly coded it into the workflow.

The project came together faster than I expected:

  • 2 months → scrappy initial version.
  • 2 more months → working product.
  • 3 months after that → approvals and full setup.

Building Postomatic

The hardest part? Integrations and prompts.

Documentation was tedious, and securing API approvals slowed progress. My early AI-generated posts were hilariously bad - they sounded like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory had written them. Every initial demo flopped.

But after persistent trial and error, we succeeded. The first time a Postomatic-generated post went live on Twitter felt magical.

Postomatic Today

So here we are. Postomatic is now live at postomatic.io.

It's a one-stop AI-powered social media tool that simplifies creating perfect posts. You can sign up for free, connect your social accounts, and start planning content immediately.

We're currently in a quiet beta - the product works but isn't fully battle-tested yet. This is intentional. I want early adopter feedback to shape Postomatic's future.

The Road Ahead

We’re only just getting started with Postomatic. Here’s what’s coming next:

Smarter AI Content

We’ve built the foundation around Brand + Persona + Scenario, but there’s so much more to explore. Imagine being able to generate:

  • Campaigns that run for weeks with consistent voice and visuals.
  • Ready-to-go templates for product launches, feature updates, or community growth.
  • Posts that learn from what performs best over time.

Rich Media Integration

Text is just the start. Social is visual, and we’re already working on:

  • AI-generated photos and graphics you can drop directly into posts.
  • Video support - from quick promo clips to ad mockups.
  • Carousels and other formats that shine on Instagram and LinkedIn.

Built-in Analytics

Posting is only half the battle. The other half is knowing what works. We’re planning:

  • Real-time analytics across platforms.
  • Insights that tell you why a post performed well (or didn’t).
  • Recommendations that automatically adjust your future content.

Community-Driven Features

We don’t want to build Postomatic in a vacuum. We want your input to decide what comes next. That means:

  • An open roadmap.
  • A feedback loop where early adopters shape the direction.
  • Priority access for those who join us in the beta

If you're a SaaS founder, indie hacker, or small business owner trying to keep up with social media - give Postomatic a try.

It's free to start, and your feedback will directly shape how the product grows.
